The Bedford Farmers'
Market returns this Tuesday, Aug. 13, at its regular location right
off Route 101 on Nashua Road. Please note it will continue to open at
3:30 p.m. but will end at 6:30 p.m. instead of 7.
Farmers reported
selling out early at the market on July 30 and promise they will bring
much more produce. Look for a new addition as we welcome McClead Bros.
Orchards from Wilton to the market. They have cherry and grape tomatoes,
many varieties of beans, summer squash and other types of vegetables.
In a week or two, their peaches and early season apples should be ready.
Nelson Farms, a
large organic farmer and a market regular will start "cooking"
at the market. Look for pizzas and pitas made from their fresh produce
and zucchini and other fritters, with all proceeds from their sale going
to their non-profit farm camp. DOn't forget to bring your children on
Aug. 13 as "Andi the Clown" will be making balloon animals,
doing face painting, and more.
The market has
many special events planned throughout the season. Look for fiddlers
in September, more cooking demos and more music. Come visit the market
on Tuesdays!
